Contract was purchased from Double-A Jacksonville on Sept. 2 and he spent the final month of the regular season with the big league club, appearing in nine games and compiling an 0-1 record and 6.75 ERA in 5.1 innings ... Pitched in a combined 37 games and 59.2 innings between the Major Leagues and minor leagues...prior to the season, injuries limited him to just 18 games and 42.1 innings pitched in his first five seasons in the Dodger organization ... In 28 outings between Single-A Vero Beach (11 games) and Jacksonville (17 games), was 2-2 with three saves and a 1.99 ERA, striking out 86 batters in 54.1 innings...with Jacksonville, posted a 1.91 ERA (6 ER/28.1 IP) ... In a span of 13 outings for Jacksonville from July 9-Aug. 29, allowed just one run in 21.0 innings ... Made his Major League debut on Sept. 2 at Colorado...came into the contest in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and two out and retired Clint Barmes on a soft liner to end the inning ... Held right-handers to .000 average (0-for-8) with five strikeouts ... Entered Sept. 18 game at San Francisco to face Barry Bonds in the eighth inning and served up career home run No. 705 to the Giants' slugger ... Over his next five outings, pitched 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out nine batters ... Hurled 2.0 scoreless innings on Sept. 20 at Arizona and struck out five batters to match the Dodger season high for strikeouts by a reliever.
